Health Benefits of Disc Golf

Physical Health
Disc Golf works on multiple muscles in body maintaining aerobic activity in cells. The actions in Disc Golf with walking and throwing disc increases positive brain activity: judgement, planning, and coordination.
1. Good exercise. Helps muscle and joint movement and helps increase weight loss.
2. Better sleep which helps over all metabolism and mental alertness.
3. Increase brain function.
4. Walking is good exercise.
It is suggested that sun protection be used when outside. Sunscreen will help prevent burns and skin cancer.
Always Stretch before playing.

Mental Health
Disc Golf can help your mental health in several ways. It allows you to get out in Nature, allowing you to shut your brain off for the time you are playing and the following reasons:
1. Relieves stress.
2. Boost mood
3. Build self confidence
4. Community (See next Section)

Camaraderie
Disc Golf players are a very accepting and inclusive group. We try to make sure everyone feels welcome and is comfortable being themselves. This helps with the following:
1. Make friends and increase positive interactions with others.
2. Provides a sense of belonging for those that don’t always have that feeling.
3. Support and cheer for each other at leagues and events leading to a sense of community.
